This post is written for the Incredible Blogger Marathon Challenge. The challenge has 10 tasks and this is the second one.
IBMC #02: Freeze a Foto Challenge is to pick up a photograph and describe the memories associated with it.
My entry is:
India School Muscat Class of IV ‘K’, 2003
The girl in the blue box has always been fidgety. She was a curious small girl with imaginary friends in her head. She started reading and writing stories when she was nine years old. Her green writing folder was big for her hands but she carried it everywhere. She took it to Lulu Mart as tried to write the story of big man hiding in the racks of fruits and dates while her mother was grocery shopping. She took it to her father’s office and she watched him chatting amiably to his colleagues about his daughter’s latest detective story. They ask him updates about the previous one while smiling at her teasingly, but he laughs and says, “She’s keeping us in suspense!” Her first short story was about a duck who gets stomach pain because it eats so many apples, despite a tree’s insistent warnings, but doesn’t regret it because the apples were really good, you see.
The world hides from you, the places it knows you can grow. This girl has tried to look anyway. Like someone from this world is holding onto your backpack or coat, to tickle you, but you need to get away so you wriggle free, and forget your expensive coat, or backpack with all important story books, but you don’t care, and you run.
Feel free to take up the challenge. It’s fun!
